    Health Benefits from Ingredients

    • Apples - have been linked to numerous health benefits, including improved gut health, reduced risk of stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and some cancers. They are a good source of fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and are low in sodium, fat, and cholesterol. Apples may also help with weight loss, improve gut and brain health, and protect against constipation, types 2 diabetes, breast cancer, and high cholesterol. Apples are also a good source of phytochemicals, including quercetin, catechin, phloridzin, and chlorogenic acid, which are strong antioxidants that help to break down and neutralize harmful free radical compounds within the body. However, eating too many apples can cause weight gain, but the sugar content alone will do that if you really like our marmalade, so lease comsume moderately if you can.
    • Grapefruit - is a tropical citrus fruit that is rich in nutrients, antioxidants, and fiber, making it one of the healthiest citrus fruits you can eat. One medium grapefruit provides 100% of your daily requirement for vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that is great for your immune system and can help fight off viruses and bacteria that can cause disease. Grapefruit also has a high level of vitamin A, or beta carotene, which is not shared by other citrus fruits. Consuming the equivalent of one grapefruit daily significantly reduced levels of cholesterol in comparison to patients that did not eat grapefruit. Eating grapefruit could help protect your cells from harmful bacteria and viruses, thanks to its high vitamin content, especially vitamin A, which is known to benefit immunity by protecting your body against inflammation, and vitamin C, which has been shown to reduce the risk of catching a cold and also the length of infection according to research. One study found that women who ate grapefruit had a higher intake of vitamin C, magnesium, potassium, dietary fiber, and improved diet quality.
    • Lemons - are a versatile fruit that offer several health benefits. They are an excellent source of vitamin C and flavonoids, which are antioxidants. Lemons are also low in calories and fat, and are a good source of vitamin B6, copper, potassium, magnesium, zinc, flavonoids, antioxidants, and phosphorus. Research suggests that these two nutrients are beneficial for heart health and help prevent heart diseases and stroke. Lemons can also aid in weight control, treat acne, reduce wrinkles, and lighten the underarms. Additionally, lemons have been linked to kidney stone prevention and cancer treatment.
    • Oranges - In addition to vitamin C, oranges have other nutrients that keep your body healthy. The fiber in oranges can keep blood sugar levels in check and reduce high cholesterol to prevent cardiovascular disease. Oranges contain approximately 55 milligrams of calcium, or 6% of your daily requirement.
    • Cinnamon - a spice obtained from the inner bark of Cinnamomum trees, has antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-cancer properties. It helps regulate blood sugar, improves heart, stomach, and skin health, and may offer protection from cancer and cardiovascular disease. However, more evidence is needed to confirm cinnamon's benefits. Different types of cinnamon have alleged health benefits, and it is recommended to include them in the diet.
    • Cloves - are a super-spice which boast of a gamut of health benefits improved digestion, reduced cancer risk, strong bones, relieving stress, better immunity and healthy skin. Interestingly, the essential oils of clove have the highest antioxidant power.
